Education First (EF) is an international education company that specializes in language training, educational travel, academic degree programs, and cultural exchange. With a mission of providing life-changing education for global citizens, EF currently operates over 600 English language schools over 50 countries and regions.
Why Tencent Cloud
Tencent Cloud provides services to more than 90% of Tier 1 education institutions. EF is our typical client out of the 18,000 + education institutions we serve. EF is growing rapidly and therefore need an IT infrastructure that is both flexible and scalable to meet its growing demands. Due to the nature of their business, they also want to find a cloud provider that not only boasts strong technical capabilities, but also has a deep understanding of the Chinese local market.
Tencent Cloud’s Cloud Connect Network provides high speed and low latency channels to interconnect EF’s existing online systems located on public clouds/IDCs in Shanghai, Japan, Singapore, North America and Europe, Tencent Cloud provides more than 1,300 nodes across the globe for EF, facilitating the integration and greatly improving the efficiency of their global business.
Tencent Cloud’s Ckafka, a high-throughput and highly scalable messaging system, also helped EF decouple their existing system and enabled EF to develop new subsystems for future communication.
The highlight of the services Tencent Cloud provided is the Smart Classroom solution. This is a solution that encompasses Tencent’s years of experience in AI, speech processing, image recognition and video processing technologies. With this solution, EF upgraded several of its schools in China and improved student learning outcomes.
