Announcement on Release of New Upgrade Mechanism for Kernel Minor Version

Dear Tencent Cloud user,
To ensure the stability and availability of kernel minor version, TDSQL-C for MySQL will release a new upgrade mechanism for the kernel minor version from October 20 to November 20, 2024. Following the release of the new mechanism, the passive upgrade capability will be discontinued. The new kernel minor version will support user-initiated upgrades only via the console. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and support.
Release Date
October 20 (Sunday) to November 20, 2024 (Wednesday), Beijing Time.
Description of Upgrade Mechanism for Kernel Minor Version
Old upgrade mechanism for kernel minor version: When the new kernel minor version is released, the system will upgrade your cluster to the latest kernel minor version if there is an operation that triggers cluster migration (such as changing cluster specifications, scaling disk capacity, or upgrading the database version).
New upgrade mechanism for kernel minor version: When the new kernel minor version is released, your kernel minor version will not be passively upgraded to the new kernel minor version due to system reasons if there is an operation that triggers cluster migration (such as changing cluster specifications, scaling disk capacity, or upgrading the database version). If you need an upgrade to the latest kernel minor version, you can do so via the console. For the operation method, refer to Upgrading Kernel Minor Version.
