Quickly Import and Export Site Configuration

Last updated: 2024-11-11 10:50:15
This article will introduce how to quickly export site configuration from one site and import it to another within EdgeOne.
    Note:
This feature only supports sites linked to Standard and Enterprise Edition packages.
This feature currently only supports exporting and importing configurations in the Site Acceleration and Global Acceleration Configuration/rule engine modules within the console.

    Applicable Scenario

When you have completed the configuration of one site and need to configure a large number of sites with similar settings in Site Acceleration and Global Acceleration Configuration/rule engine as the already configured site, you can quickly synchronize configurations via site configuration import/export.
If your business needs to change Tencent Cloud account due to special reasons, you can migrate the configurations of Site Acceleration and Global Acceleration Configuration/rule engine from the old account to the new one through configuration import/export.

    Operation step

    Step 1: Export Site Configuration

    1. Login to the TencentCloud EdgeOne Console, in the left menu bar, click on Site List, in the site list click on the site to be configured.
    2. On the site details page, in the top site navigation, click Site Management and then Export Configuration.

    3. Select the module to be exported. It supports separate exports of Site Acceleration and Global Acceleration Configuration/Rule Engine configurations, click Confirm Export. The exported file is in JSON format. It is not recommended to modify the content of the exported file directly. If you need to adjust, you can Contact Us.

    Note:
When exporting Site Acceleration and Rule Engine, only the rules that are enabled and actually effective will be exported. Unenabled rules are not included.

    Step 2: Import Site Configuration

    1. Login to the TencentCloud EdgeOne Console, in the left menu bar, click on Site List, in the site list click on the site to be configured.
    2. On the site details page, in the top site navigation, click Site Management and then Import Configuration.

    3. Select the import source, you can choose Import from another site under the current account or Import from a file.
If importing from another site under the current account, you can directly select the origin server under the current account and click Next.

If you opt for File Import, please select the JSON file exported from Step 1, drag and drop it here to implement cross-account configuration import. The file must be in JSON format, and its size should be within 1 MB, then click Next.

    4. Select the import module. Import from Other Sites of the Current Account allows you to choose to import Site Global Configuration or Rule Engine independently. If you need to fine-tune the imported configuration, you can modify it directly in this interface without affecting the original site configuration. When using File Import, EdgeOne will parse the modules contained in your imported file. You can choose which modules to import and modify. After confirming, click Next.

    Note:
    1. EdgeOne offers two configuration display/modification methods: GUI Mode and JSON Mode. It is recommended to operate directly in GUI Mode. For configuration modifications via code in JSON Mode, please contact us.
    2. The content of the exported configuration file may change as features are iterated and added or decommissioned. It is recommended to re-export the site configuration when using file import, rather than using a historically saved configuration file.
    5. The configuration comparison will display the discrepancies between the imported configuration and the current effective configuration in JSON format. You can check for any issues in this step. After confirming there are no issues, click Confirm Import.
    Note:
The imported configuration will overwrite the original configuration for the corresponding module of the site. Please confirm that overwriting the original configuration will not impact your business before continuing to import.

    6. In the secondary popup, click Confirm No Impact, Continue Import.
    7. The backend will start importing the configuration. After the import is complete, you can go to the Site Acceleration Module to view the imported configuration.
