Managing a Target Group

    Adding Instances

    After creating a target group, you need to add instances to the target group for receiving and handling the business traffic from GWLB.

    Prerequisites

    Before adding instances to the target group, ensure that you have created, deployed, and completed adaptation for servers of third-party virtual devices, which are capable of handling GENEVE traffic.

    Directions

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. On the list page, click the ID of the specified target group, or in the operation column of the specified target group, click More > Edit Instances in the Target Group.
    4. On the target group information page, select the Instances in Target Group tab and click Add to enter the Add Instances pop-up window.
    5. In the Add Instances pop-up window, select appropriate servers and confirm their weights.
    6. Click Confirm to complete the addition of instances to the target group.

    Modifying Weights

    Modifying a Single Weight

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. On the list page, click the ID of the specified target group, or in the operation column of the specified target group, click More > Edit Instances in the Target Group.
    4. On the target group information page, select the Instances in Target Group tab and click Modify Weight in the operation column.
    5. In the Modify Weight pop-up window, select an appropriate weight value.
    6. Click OK to complete the weight modification.

    Modifying Weights in Batches

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. On the list page, click the ID of the specified target group, or in the operation column of the specified target group, click More > Edit Instances in the Target Group.
    4. On the target group information page, select the Instances in Target Group tab and select instances for which you want to modify the weight.
    5. Click Modify Weight above the list of the instances in the target group.
    6. In the Modify Weight pop-up window, select an appropriate weight value. At this time, all instances will be modified to the same weight value.
    7. Click OK to complete the weight modification.

    Removing Instances from the Target Group

    Removing a Single Instance from the Target Group

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. On the list page, click the ID of the specified target group, or in the operation column of the specified target group, click More > Edit Instances in the Target Group.
    4. On the Instances in the Target Group tab, click Remove in the operation column.
    5. In the Confirm Removal pop-up window, confirm the information of the instance to be removed and click OK to complete the removal of the instance.
    Note:
    After removal, business forwarding will be affected. Please proceed with caution.

    Removing Instances from the Target Group in Batches

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. On the list page, click the ID of the specified target group, or in the operation column of the specified target group, click More > Edit Instances in the Target Group.
    4. On the Instances in Target Group tab. select the instances to be removed.
    5. Click Remove above the list of the instances in the target group.
    6. In the Remove pop-up window, confirm the information of the instances to be removed and click OK to complete the removal of the instances.
    Note:
    After removal, business forwarding will be affected. Please proceed with caution.

    Editing Health Check

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. In the list page, click the ID of the specified target group to enter the Basic Information Page of the target group.
    4. On the Target Group Basic Information tab, click Edit in the health check area.
    5. In the Edit Target Group Health Check pop-up window, configure the information related to health check.
    Parameters
    Description
    Health check
    Enabled by default. It helps you automatically check real servers and remove those with exceptions.
    Check method
    TCP by default. You can also select the PING method.
    Checking port
    Required when the TCP health check method is selected.
    Advanced options
    You can modify the response timeout, check interval, unhealthy threshold, and healthy threshold as needed. For details, see Configuring Health Check.

    Viewing Target Group Monitoring

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. In the list page, click the ID of the specified target group to enter the Basic Information Page of the target group.
    4. Select the Monitoring tab to view the monitoring information of the target group.

    Viewing the GWLB Instances Associated with the Target Group

    1. Log in to the GWLB console. In the GWLB directory, select Target Group Management.
    2. In the Target Group Management window, select the specified region.
    3. On the list page, click the ID of the specified target group, or in the operation column of the specified target group, click More > View Associated Instances.
    4. On the Associated GWLB Instances tab, view the list of GWLB instances associated with the target group.
