Sender ID
The Sender ID is the name displayed as the Sender of the SMS message on the recipient's device, which is an effective way to brand yourself to recipients.
Due to the involvement of many countries/regions in the international SMS message, the presentation of Sender ID varies accordingly, and can be roughly categorized into two types:
Alphabetical Sender ID
For countries/regions that support alphabetical (alphanumeric), the Sender ID can be customized and is typically 3-11 English characters. Special characters are not permitted, except for "_" and "-". It is generally required that the Sender ID is associated with the client's company name or brand.
Numeric Sender ID
The numeric Sender ID cannot be customized, and different countries have different application requirements.
Sender ID Reporting Rules
Globally, some countries/regions do not require registration to send messages. Tencent Cloud platform requires customers to provide basic information for review before sending specified Sender ID and content.
Note:
With the promotion of DND and the emphasis on user privacy, it is required to register a Sender ID. In the future, more and more countries and regions will be able to send SMS messages.
