Practical Tutorial of Tencent Cloud Lighthouse

Last updated: 2024-10-16 16:43:53

    Application Scenarios

Most users are using Tencent Cloud Lighthouse and face two main issues when using CDS:
Scenario 1: If a self-built database is deployed in Lighthouse, how to add assets in CDS?
Scene 2: If an application system is deployed in Tencent Cloud Lighthouse (Lighthouse), how to deploy the agent?
This document will explain how to address the above deployment issues in Lighthouse.

    Scene Analysis

Since Lighthouse is in a separate VPC, it is not interconnected with other Tencent Cloud resources (including CDS) by default. Therefore, it is necessary to associate with a CCN to achieve private network interconnection with other VPCs before you can use CDS normally.

    Directions

    Private Network Interconnection

    1. Go to Lighthouse's Interconnection and associate CCN in the required region. Refer to the corresponding Documentation.
    2. After successful association, on the CCN page, click Manage Instances to view the details of the corresponding instance.

    3. On the associate instance page, the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) remarked as Lighthouse VPC is the VPC for the lightweight server, and the other VPC is the interconnected VPC.

    Scene 1: Adding Assets

If the database is deployed on Lighthouse, you need to add assets according to the following methods.
    Description:
Private Network Interconnection settings for the corresponding region of this Lighthouse have been completed.
    1. log in to the CDS console, click Data Assets > Self-Built Database on the left navigation bar.
    2. On the self-built database page, click Add Data Asset, select the required parameters, and click Submit and Close to complete the addition.

    Note
    Adding Method
Select CVM or manually input the IP address according to your needs.
Select CVM: Assets deployed on a VPC CVM.
Manually enter the IP: Assets connected to the VPC via dedicated lines or other methods.

    Region
    Choose according to your needs.

    VPC
Optional. You can narrow down the CVM instance search scope by selecting the VPC where the asset is located.
Do not select the VPC where the Lightweight server is located.
    Data Asset Name
Customized name, within 64 characters, must be unique.

    Operating System
Select the operating system according to your needs.

Database Asset Type and Corresponding Versions
    MySQL: 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, and 8.0.
    PostgreSQL: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14.

    Character set
Select the appropriate character set according to your actual needs.

    Bidirectional Audit
If you enable bidirectional audit, the storage space usage will increase. You can view the returned data in the Audit Log.

    Scene 2: Deploying Agent

This scene includes two sub-scenes. Select any of the following schemes according to your actual needs.
    Description
Private Network Interconnection settings for the corresponding region of this Lighthouse have been completed.
Database in Lighthouse: After adding assets according to the method in Scene 1, download the agent from the Agent Management Page, and deploy it on the Lighthouse where the database or application system is located.

Database not in Lighthouse (such as cloud database and self-built database in CVM): Make sure that the Cloud Connect Network (CCN) counterpart VPC in the private network interconnection is the VPC where the database is located. Download the agent from the Agent Management Page and deploy it on the Lighthouse where the application system is located.
